St. John Chrysostom, a 4th-century Archbishop of Constantinople, was renowned for his eloquence in preaching and public speaking. His insightful sermons continue to inspire the Orthodox Christian community today. The Oratorical Festival is named in his honor, encouraging our youth to follow in his footsteps and express their faith through the art of speech.

The St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival is divided into two divisions:
- Junior Division: For students in grades 7-9.
- Senior Division: For students in grades 10-12.
Each year, participants select one of several predetermined topics related to Orthodox Christian teachings, contemporary issues, or the Bible. They then craft an original speech based on their chosen topic, which they present at the festival.
