JOY

Welcome to the JOY page of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church! JOY stands for Junior Orthodox Youth and is a ministry designed for children between the ages of 5 and 12. We are committed to providing a welcoming and engaging environment for young Orthodox Christians to learn and grow in their faith.

At JOY, we believe that children are an essential part of the church community, and we strive to provide opportunities for them to deepen their faith and build relationships with one another and with God. Our ministry focuses on four key areas: education, fellowship, worship, and service.

Education is an important part of our ministry, and we offer a variety of opportunities for children to learn more about the Orthodox faith. We offer Sunday school classes, where children can learn about the Bible, the life of Christ, and the teachings of the Church. We also hold workshops and other educational events throughout the year that help children to understand and appreciate their faith.

Fellowship is another important part of our ministry. We believe that it is essential for children to build relationships with other Orthodox youth, and we provide many opportunities for them to do so. We plan social events such as movie nights, game nights, and trips to local attractions. These events are a great way for children to have fun and connect with others who share their faith.

Worship is a central part of our ministry, and we encourage children to participate in the life of the Church. Children can participate in the worship service by singing in the choir, reading scripture, or serving as an altar boy or girl. We also offer special services such as the sacrament of confession and Holy Unction, which allow children to deepen their relationship with God.

Service is an important part of our ministry, and we encourage children to give back to their community. We organize service projects such as food drives, toy drives, and fundraisers for local charities. These projects teach children the importance of helping others and show them how their faith can inspire them to make a positive impact in the world.

We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all children who participate in our ministry. We carefully select and train our volunteers to ensure that they are qualified to work with children and that they share our values and commitment to the Orthodox faith.

If you are interested in joining us for JOY, we invite you to contact the church office or one of our JOY leaders for more information. We welcome all children, regardless of their level of knowledge or experience with the Orthodox faith. Our JOY ministry is a place where children can learn, grow, and have fun in a supportive and loving environment.
